Conquer Entertainment Is A Scam? It Is A MLM Trap In My Opinion.
The music labels have been ripping artists off for years. Here is a link to an unedited transcript of Courtney Love’s speech to the Digital Hollywood Online Entertainment Conference, given in New York on May 16, 2000. It will give you some good insights into how artists are treated by the labels.
The time has come for a change. Artists are looking for options that will give them more control and more money. When change comes, there are companies that setup traps to take your money. I want to talk about one of those companies today: Conquer Entertainment.

These services may not be in your area and you have no idea how much they are or how competitive they are until you sign up.
One of the things they offer is a person to help grow your career: A Certified Artist Developer. This person is a MLM person that has taken a two-day certification course to become a CAD. These people may not have any experience at all in the music world. Why would you want to place your music future in this type of persons hands?
The large arena events they offer you are marketing events for a MLM scheme: Market America. The people are not there for the artists. The smaller events are used for prospecting as Amanda clearly communicates: “You can invite your prospects to these music showcases and describe Market America to them!”. How exciting is that to bring a Amway like hard sell to most events you are a part of through them.
You pay them so you can be paid less than other independent distribution channels like Amazon, iTunes, and CD Baby.

They claim to be the UnLabel, but they are working with labels and labeled artists to promote Conquer Entertainment and Market America.

Conquer Entertainment Scam Conclusion:
For your initial $45 then three months later $15 per month, they are making your music a tool to recruit additional Market America representatives. Conquer Entertainment is not a revolution but a trap for you and your fans. They get you to signup with limited information and a no refund policy. They market to you and your fans a MLM scheme.
Market America reps claim to not be part of MLM. In my opinion, they clearly are recruiting you into their downline when they share the business with you.
“Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit. This recruited sales force is referred to as the participant’s downline, and can provide multiple levels of compensation.”
Market America is the latest and most sophisticated incarnation of multilevel marketing, that controversial business model that exploits the get-rich-quick dreams of every red-blooded American. The basic idea is that members of Market America who want to become “Independent Distributors” pay a fee for the right to sell exclusive products, including vitamins, makeup, potent herbal tonics and kitchenware, and the right to recruit other Independent Distributors. – Source businessweek.com
