GetPaid.Socal Scam

Update August 31, 2016: has been sold to a new owner and does not have the money to pay your past earnings.

It would be great to make a significant amount of money just by doing some simple tasks online each day.  That is the offer so many scams have made before.  In most cases, the amount of money that you get is so limited it ends up being a total waste of time and then they try to charge you to actually make money.  My subscribers have requested I take a look into  This is what I have found. Scam Claims

GetPAID for performing simple & fast online tasks! 100% free to join & start making money!

I think this concept is genius and I hope you take it seriously because this is an incredible chance for ANYONE to make money, WITHOUT having to recruit other people, sell a product or anything of the kind!

Here is how this money making opportunity is presented: Scam Presentation Video Scam Reality

GetPaid.socal was launched on December 7, 2015. Jeff Long is the creator of GetPaid.socal .  Jeff Long has been the creator and promoter of many different schemes and scams including a cash gifting scam.

“Over the past 12-24 months you have seen me promote close to 15-20 DIFFERENT home business opportunities and have seen me go from one thing to another stating “THIS IS THE NEXT BIG THING..GET IN NOW!”

So I realize that what I’m about to write may cause most of you to laugh and mock which is understandable LOL A few days ago I actually laughed at myself (And got pretty angry too) about the way I’ve conducted my business in the last year. Let’s just say I’ve learned a LOT. It’s been a painful AND REWARDING journey but now I’m realizing that I cannot keep running my business in this manner if I hope to be a respectable and credible leader in this industry.” – Source September 2010

Here is what one member had to say about their experience with

I joined GPS way back in Oct during pre-launch and then upgraded to lifetime premium in Nov. I thought it was a great concept and had high hopes for it but still had my questions and doubts like many others did as well. The sad thing is the promotions and the sales page did nothing but attract the freebie seeking type of people which IMO wasn’t a very good idea. Everyone wants to do the tasks and get paid but very few are willing to spend money to create tasks to drive traffic and build their main businesses as well as to help make the system work as it was intended and be successful for everyone.

After creating several tasks myself, it became all too clear and just verified to me that the membership is mostly made up of people who are only there just to get paid for doing tasks much like those who surf mindlessly all day in traffic exchanges or clicking ads all day for micro cents. Definitely NOT quality traffic and definitely not worth spending money to advertise to. You’re just wasting your time and money. It’s a shame we have over 100,000 members and the only thing everyone cares about is why there are no tasks to do.

Plus I knew right away when people started creating tasks that was just trying to get members to share spammy and scammy business opportunities to their facebook timelines (if it was even set up right) or opt in to a scammy biz opp mailing list (that nobody got paid on) that this kind of junk was NOT what I hoped it would be. I would have liked to see GPS be something different and unique than everything else out there by only allowing good quality advertising tasks but it’s turned into nothing but another one of those low quality PTC “bux” sites.  – Source

When I took a look at what was available for making money for free with, I found only three tasks to do.  I could make 20 cents per day or $6 per month. This is a near insignificant amount of money.  In my opinion,  the free option is just used to get you in and convince you to upgrade to paying a membership fee to make money by recruiting people into this money making opportunity.

Some of the tasks that tries to get you to purchase are not supported by the terms of use of Facebook: Tasks

Likes created by fake accounts or people without real intent are bad for people on Facebook, advertisers and Facebook itself. We have a strong incentive to aggressively go after the bad actors behind fake likes because businesses and people who use our platform want real connections and results. Businesses won’t achieve results and could end up doing less business on Facebook if the people they’re connected to aren’t real. It’s in our best interest to make sure that interactions are authentic, so we staff a number of teams to detect fraudulent activity and shut it down. – Source Facebook

Since 10% of all commission earnings are automatically applied to your credit balance and can not be withdrawn, this money can be used to create tasks.  Many of the tasks come from recruiting money that is forced to remain in the system.

The Facebook app has caused some people to not be able to share:

I saw the advertisement and signed up very happy to see that I could be at the top as only 18,000 dollars had been disbursed as of 7 days ago, excited that even if it was a pyramid scheme a went ahead and followed the instructions and created the app, and BANG the next thing I know was Facebook banned me from sharing anything, I went ahead and deleted the app and contacted FB within 10 minutes and they reversed their decision to 30 days not sharing. I appealed again and was allowed to keep my account and share posts after 5 days. – Source Derek Demitrius

In my opinion, is another recruiting scam.  The money that you make comes mainly from the people that have been recruited into the money making opportunity.  The free option to join is extremely limited on how much money you can make without recruiting people. The traffic provided is not worth spending money to advertise to. The Facebook app has caused some people to not be able to share.  Jeff Long has been the creator and promoter of many different schemes and scams including a cash gifting scam. I would avoid the money making opportunity.
