Valentus Scam? Yes It Is In My Opinion!
Weight loss products come in an endless variety. Many use claims that are not backed by science to take your money. These types of products are popular for MLM recruiting scams like Herbalife. My subscribers have requested that I take a look at the Valentus business opportunity. Valentus is a MLM company that sells weight loss coffee products. Here is what I have found.
Valentus Scam Claims
The healthiest coffee on the planet!
Valentus launched the ultimate compensation plan with a profit structure unparalleled by any pay plan in the direct marketing industry.
Here is video of how Valentus is presented:
Valentus Scam Reality
Valentus is a nutritional supplements company in the multi-level marketing industry that features a weight loss management coffee product in the form of dispenser sticks that can be added to and mixed with water.
Dave Jordan is the founder and CEO of Valentus which started in 2014.
“He started Valentus in the fall of 2014 with the mission of using his 90 million people database of networkers and opportunity seekers and several lead generation technologies to “force feed” enrollees in Valentus’ IRs power teams….” – Source mlmdj.com
It looks like Dave had a lot of leads from his previous MLM recruiting scams, so he started his own MLM company.
Dave Jordan was involved with LiveSmart 360 back in 2011 and Waiora back in 2008.
Here is audio of Dave Jordan explaining when Valentus started:
“I believe people are going to know who we are. I believe people are going to see a CEO that lost 65 lbs in over 9 months without dieting, without working out. I believe the message is perfectly clear to people around the United States and around the world….” – Dave Jordan
Here is one of the claims made about their products on the Valentus website:
Donna Lost 60 Pounds!
When the SlimRoast coffee came out, I started drinking one cup a day. I was shocked by what happened next! The inches began to melt off, and my body seemed to be toning up all by itself – without exercising! I felt happy, I could focus better, I had a ton of energy, I had no appetite for 8 – 12 hours, and NO cravings for sugar or carbs – my stomach didn’t even growl. I have now lost 60 pounds using Valentus products and went down 5 jean sizes! This has totally changed my life!
Here is a Dietitian review of SlimRoast:
Healthiest coffee on the planet? Not quite.
It’s pretty physiologically impossible to take a supplement and lose weight just from that, without any changes to your diet or activity. So testimonials that make that claim are probably not legit. I promise – when scientists find the magic ingredient that makes people lose weight while they sit on their ass, I’ll let you know. For now though – you’ll need to do the work. Sorry!
Don’t be fooled by talk about proprietary blends and/or ingredients. No one is hiding the world’s best-ever weight-loss secret.
The Bottom Line:
Want the same effect of SlimRoast? Get a Starbucks and eat a balanced diet. Then, smile because you saved money and didn’t buy SlimRoast.

It is my opinion, the weight loss claims that are made to sell Valentus products are bogus.
No retail sales information is provided to show how much of the product the average independent representative is selling to people outside of the business opportunity.
According to the Valentus polices and procedures, “Most Independent Representatives earn less money each month in the compensation program than they are paying for their products.”
In my opinion, you will need to recruit people into the business opportunity to make any significant amount of money. Retail sales will not provide you with enough income to make this a viable business.
“Independent Representatives should not participate in Valentus under the expectation of earning income without referring new Independent Representatives and Customers.” – Source valentus.com
Valentus is being sued by a suppler of their coffee (Advanced Laboratories International, LLC) for a lack of payment of $3,180,000. What I found very interesting in this lawsuit is how much Valentus purchases their coffee for: $6 per box. They sell these boxes for $59.95.
The cost to join Valentus as an independent distributor is between $59.95 and $499.95, depending on which product pack is purchased. The company also charges a one-time $20 activation fee, but there is no annual renewal fee.
Basic 1 box – $59.95 50BV
Starter 3 boxes – $129.95 100BV
Advanced 6 boxes – $199.95 150BV
Business Builder 16 boxes – $499.95 400BV
Independent Representatives should not participate in Valentus under the expectation of earning income without referring new Independent Representatives and Customers. Neither Valentus, nor its Independent Representatives can guarantee “spill over” or earnings simply by becoming an Independent Representative. Valentus Independent Representatives should not participate in the Valentus opportunity if they are not planning on sharing the products with others.
In order to remain active and qualify to earn commissions, you must maintain a Loyalty Purchase production of a minimum of 50BV or 100BV in personal volume each calendar month, depending on what commissions have been earned upon qualification.
To qualify for Dual Team Cycle Commissions you are required to personally produce a Loyalty Purchase of 50BV or greater and sponsor a minimum of two (2) IR’s – one placed on the left team and one placed on the right team – who each produce a Loyalty Purchase of 50BV or greater.
In my opinion, the Valentus compensation plan is a typical endless recruiting scam where you pay a fee, purchase a starter pack, purchase product each month and recruit others to do the same.
Commissions and bonuses are paid 7 to an infinite levels deep.
Excessive levels in a downline is another sign participants are expected to sell primarily to their downline, rather than to the general public. This makes it an exploitative money transfer scheme. – Source The problem with 5 or more levels of compensation.
Most Independent Representatives earn less money each month in the compensation program than they are paying for their products. Although it is possible, Valentus Independent Representatives should NOT expect to make a profit simply by becoming an Independent Representative, as it is very possible that will not occur.
Valentus cannot guarantee that Independent Representatives earn a profit by implementing the training materials provided. The products are for educational purposes only. – Source valentus.com
If the registered Independent Representative (IR) or registered Preferred Customer (PC) who ordered directly from an official Valentus e-commerce website is not completely satisfied with their First Product Purchase, he or she may return back to the Company the unused, unopened boxes of 24 sticks (unopened, sealed and re-saleable condition whole box(es) product only) of the First Product
Purchase within ninety (90) days of the original purchase date. The Company will refund 100% of the purchase price pro-rata of the returned box(es) of the First Product Purchase only (less shipping and handling). If the First Product Purchase is returned after the ninety (90) day period, no refund will be given. Any subsequent order(s) placed (following the first order) made by the IR or PC will carry an rolling thirty (30) day 100% refund of the purchase price of any returned box(es) in an unopened, sealed and re-saleable condition which qualify for a pro-rata refund from the rolling thirty (30) day order date of any refund request(s) received. – Source valentus.com
Valentus Scam Conclusion
In my opinion, Valentus uses bogus weight loss claims to get people to join their recruiting scam. You get to pay them to recruit your friends and family into a business opportunity where most Independent Representatives earn less money each month in the compensation program than they are paying for their products. I found nothing special about the Valentus business opportunity. The Valentus pitch is the same tired MLM pitch you’ve heard hundreds of times before. Each person who profits from the Valentus business opportunity does so primarily from the payments of others who are themselves making payments in order to obtain their own profit. It looks like Dave Jordan had a lot of leads from his previous MLM recruiting scams, so he started his own MLM company. Valentus is being sued by a suppler of their coffee (Advanced Laboratories International, LLC) for a lack of payment of $3,180,000. I would avoid the Valentus business opportunity.
